Our story

 -The past -

Borgo di Capannole began as a dream—a vision for a better future pursued by a young, creative couple in their 30s, Rudolf Roslmair and Vitorina Melandrin. Rudolf, a professional architect, and Vitorina, a writer and rising artist, achieved their dream by restoring this 13th-century farmhouse, which is now a registered historical building.

Before long, the two became three. Together, they welcomed generations of students, families, artists, and artisans into their home. Their son, Stefan, is an accomplished musician, sound designer, and carpenter. For years, he has curated musical and cultural events and activities at the farmhouse, continuing the family’s legacy of creativity and community.

- The present -

Forty years later, that dream continues to flourish. Today, Stefan's family has grown, with children's laughter echoing through the house. Even here, amid Tuscany's endless greenery and perfect vistas, we feel the pulse of changing times—climate change, social uncertainty, and emotions that range from deep concern to boundless hope. Looking at our children, we're reminded of just how precious this place is.

-The future -

Our mission at Borgo di Capannole is to cultivate skills that nurture deep connections with both nature and community. We achieve this through skill-sharing events and workshops focused on:

Holistic and ecological agriculture Creative, self-sufficient systems Indigenous and ancient healing wisdom Artistic and cultural exchange Rest and rejuvenation through our B&B
